Younger students learn discipline through our martial art. We teach when the right time is to be serious, and also when to have fun. Students run through basic movements to better their foundation in Karate.

Older students learn ways to increase effectiveness in striking power and speed. Learn how to create efficient technique while studying how to apply them correctly in certain situations.

As a team, we teach the value of community and how we need each other to continue to grow as Karate-Ka, and as a society.

Karate has passed down Kata, or forms, from Sensei to student for many years. We continue to preserve and pass these lessons we learn from our teachers, and the secrets that come along with it. Students run through a series of basic and advanced movements during Kata.

Kumite, or sparring, is another main subject in our lessons. Learn how to better control your situation, maintain the correct distance for your techniques and how to deal with physical contact against an opponent.

Our school offers a wide variety of skill sets, and an even broader range of ways to teach them.

Learn how to break through targets with board breaking, and the necessary force behind striking.

Practice different types of techniques like punching, kicking, take-downs, sweeps and more.
We go over how your decisions can affect you in any and all cases.

Study ways to gain advantages when dealing with confrontation, both verbally and physically.

Welcome to GKA Karate Academy

Our main goals are to spread the beautiful art of Karate and build a strong community.
We strongly believe in teaching family values and good discipline through martial arts.
We teach traditional Japanese Karate with a light modern twist with fun cardio exercises and teamwork drills for all ages to enjoy.

In regards to tournaments, our school follows the World Karate Federation Rules & Regulations.
We help students learn what is required of them when they compete by going over rules in the official WKF handbook. This helps ensure their success competing from local tournaments, to national tournaments and eventually international tournaments.

Fun Fact: What made our school so special throughout the years is the fact that we receive students primarily through word of mouth. We have since then received an astonishing amount of positive feedback and we will continue to do everything we can to preserve the uniqueness of our treasured school.
